Underwriting Manager (Personal Lines)

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute underwriting strategies for personal lines insurance to be in line with Tokio Marine business plan.
    Mainly responsible for underwriting and product design for insurance schemes and Affinity programs for motor, personal accident, health, extended warranty, fire, liability or other personal lines insurance.
  • Analyse personal lines portfolio on regular basis and take necessary actions to ensure portfolio profitability.
  • Be familiar with operation, process, data and system for personal lines insurance.
  • Provide technical support in product development including market research, product design, policy wordings and system setup for personal lines products.
  • Undertake other responsibilities and/or projects as assigned related to personal lines.
  • Work closely with internal /external stakeholders e.g. marketing, intermediaries/business partners, claims, product team, to devise strategic initiatives to expand Personal Lines portfolio and to achieve sustainable and profitable growth.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or Insurance related professional qualifications such as AMII, ACII, AII and DMII.
    Minimum 8 years’ underwriting experience in personal lines insurance products.
  • Underwriting experience in Affinity insurance program will be an advantage.
